Father Michael stared in disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cAngela? What are you doing here?\u201d<\/p>\n

The young nun smiled sweetly and took his hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m your reward, Father.\u201d<\/p>\n

His jaw nearly hit the floor.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me?\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Peter nodded.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father Michael\u2019s heart raced.<\/p>\n

Forty years of service.<\/p>\n

Thousands of sermons.<\/p>\n

Countless confessions.<\/p>\n

And now this?<\/p>\n

He tried to remain dignified.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell\u2026 I must admit, this is unexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angela laughed softly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was surprised too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father Michael straightened his robe and glanced at St. Peter.<\/p>\n

St. Peter burst out laughing.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh no, Father. You\u2019ve got it backwards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father Michael blinked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Peter pointed at Angela and smiled.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not her reward\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Father frowned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen what is going on?\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Peter grinned even wider.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s the reward.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Father Michael looked confused.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor whom?\u201d<\/p>\n

Angela smiled innocently.<\/p>\n

Then St. Peter delivered the punchline:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor putting up with your sermons every Sunday for forty years!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Father Michael stood speechless.<\/p>\n

Angela couldn\u2019t stop laughing.<\/p>\n

And just before Father Michael woke up, he heard St. Peter shout:<\/p>\n
